A car rally with these women who made it a memorable experience. It was a four teamed drive.

Let me walk you through the trip with these pictures below.

For long we were thinking to go on a trip and finally we decided to do it. We four left from Bangalore on a four day trip to Jog falls, Sringeri and Kollur.
Jog – Kollur - Sringeri
On the way we took a break and got a hitch hiking on a bullock kart. It was a fun ride indeed. We understood how people are so simple, good at heart. We drove for 6 hrs and finally reached Jog Falls. We did book in a quaint resort little away from Jog Falls, but since the place looked deserted we thought we will stay in a government hotel in Jog falls which we felt safer.

It was monsoon time we went and it was raining all through the day. Generally people dont want to travel in monsoon time, I would suggest to travel to the western ghats during monsoon, the experience is very different. We enjoyed getting drenched in the monsoon rain.
Jog – Kollur - Sringeri
We drove around the area and noticed this steel bridge built on the gushing river. And that leaves us with no other option other than to climb and spend some time there. So this is the view from the steel bridge.

If we drive 20 mins around the jog falls, there is a place to trek down where you can get the view of the place where the falls starts. Other 2 of my friends were not ready to trek down after listening that it was little risky to trek down due to slippery surface. Myself and Shubha brave hearted people (on a lighter note) tried this trek and it was worth the effort to do it, got an amazing view of the falls starting point. It was real scary to see the falls from here…

We drove from Murudeshwar to Sringeri and crossed Augumbe which is part of Someshwara forest. The weird  part here is, it will start raining the time you start climbing the mountain and you will see heavy rainfall during the drive and the rain stops once you get out of this mountain. No wonder this is the 2nd highest rainfall area in India. I have crossed this area thrice and all three times I have experienced the same.
Jog – Kollur - Sringeri
We found this small little tea shop where they served hot tea, which was so nice for that chill weather. Who wouldn’t enjoy a cup hot tea in such rainy cold weather after all?
So, here we are in front of the statue of Lord Shiva in Murdeshwar. Murudeshwar is a coastal town with Shiva temple. The statue is built huge and in the sea shore, in the evenings the view of Sea and the Shiva statue is awesome and one should not miss this experience.
